In 1890 British East Africa stamps were issued by the British East Africa Company. Then in 1895 stamps of India began to be issued with an overprint. The first inscribe British East Africa Protectorate stamp was issued between the years 1896 to 1903. In 1897 Zanzibar stamps were also issued with an overprint. The last British East Africa Protectorate stamp was issued in 1898. Then all stamp of the British East Africa Protectorate were superseeded in 1904 by the stamps of East Africa and Uganda Protectorate. Some examples of British Central Africa stamps is as follows:
