BUSHIRE

Bushire is a port in the Persian gulf that was occupied by British Troops in 1915. Iranian stamps were used with an overprint for postage. In the same year the port was return to Persia control and they began to issue stamps again. An example of the overprint and a Iranian stamp with the overprint is as follows:

BUSHIRE Under British Occupation
(overprint on Iranian or Persia stamp)
British occupational overprint on Iranian or Persia stamps.
