CAMEROUN

Camerouns was occupied or control by Germany, Great Britian, and France in the late 1800's and early 1900's. All stamps issued for Camerouns postage were from these countries, or other countries with overprints stamped on them. In 1960 the French part of Camerouns became the independent State of Cameroun. Its joined with the British part of Cameroon in 1961 to create the Federal Republic of Cameroun. The name was change again in 1971 to United Republic of Cameroun.
