French Sudan was divided up among Dahomey, French Guinea, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Senegambia, and Niger in 1899 and ceased to exist. In 1921, French Sudan was re-established and began to issue stamps again. French Sudan became part of French West Africa in the 1940s.
