Funchal is a city in the Madeira Island group which is part of the Republic of Portugal. Funchal began to issue their own stamps in1892. Later in the 1900s the stamps of Madeira replaced the stamps of Funchal, and then the stamps of Madeira were replaced by Portugal stamps. An example of a Funchal stamp is as follows:
