GERMANY
OCCUPATION STAMPS

Germany was occupied by foreign Belgian forces after WWI and used Belgian stamps for postage until 1921. After WWII Germany again was occupied by the foreign forces of the United States, Great Britain, France, and Russia. Special stamps from these occupational forces were used for postage in Germany during the occupation. Special Berlin issued stamps were used in the American, British, and French occupation sectors of Berlin until 1990, when Germany and the German Democratic Republic merged.
