IRELAND

Ireland was a part of Great Britain and used their stamps for postage until it became an independent free state of the British Commonwealth in 1922. Ireland issued its first stamp in 1922. In 1949 Ireland withdrew from the British commonwealth and became an independent Republic. Some examples of Ireland stamps and overprints is as follows:
