Madeira is a group of islands that is a part of Portugal. Madeira issued its first stamp in 1868 and in 1898 the stamps of Portugal replaced the stamps of Madeira. Starting in 1980 some of Portugal stamps are inscribed Madeira. Some examples of Madeira stamps is as follows:
