MARSHALL ISLANDS

Marshall Islands was part of Germany until 1914 when Japan took the Islands. Stamps of Germany with an overprint were used for postage until the Marshall Islands could issued their own. In 1947 the Marshall Islands were taken by the United States and the Islands used the stamps of the United States for postage. The Marshall Islands began to issue their own stamps in 1984 and became their own state in 1986. Some examples of Marshall Islands stamps is as follows:
