Micronesia, Federated States Of consist of over 600 Islands. These islands were once own by Germany and were known as the Carolinia Islands. The islands were seized by Japan in 1914. In 1947 the islands were freed by the United States. And the stamps of the United States began to be used for postage. Micronesia began to issue their own stamps in 1984 and became a sovereign state in 1986. Some examples of Micronesia stamps is as follows:
