NETHERLANDS NEW GUINEA

Netherlands New Guinea issued its first stamp in 1950 and was part of the Netherlands until 1962, when it was placed under United Nation control. Stamps of Netherlands New Guinea were then overprinted with "UNTEA" until Indonesia took control in 1963. At that time Netherlands New Guinea was renamed West Irian and their stamps were inscribe with Irian barat and Republik Indonesia. Some examples of Netherlands New Guinea stamps is as follows:
