NEW BRITAIN

New Britain was formerly known as German New Guinea. It issued its first stamp in 1914 and became a part of New Guinea which was a Australian mandate. Some examples of New Britain stamps is as follows: G. R. I. (Overprinted on stamps of German New Guinea.) (G. R. I. means Georgius Rex Imperator.)
