New Guinea is a Territory on the island of New Guinea. It consist of New Britain and other nearby islands. New Guinea was formerly know as German New Guinea. It issued its first stamp in 1925. Postal authorities of New Guinea and Papua were joined together in 1952. Therefore, both country names were inscribed on their stamps. A example of a New Guinea stamp is as follows:
