NEW HEBRIDES, FRENCH

New Hebrides (French) was jointly governed by France and Great Britain and each issued its own stamps. The first stamp issued by the French was in 1908. In 1911 the stamps of New Hebrides were inscribed with both French and British arms and Identifiers. The only difference between the stamps issued by the British and the stamps issued by the French was that the arms or identifiers were reversed. New Hebrides became a independent state in 1980 and was renamed Vanuatu. Some examples of New Hebrides (French) stamps is as follows:
