OMAN

Oman was once known as Sultanate of Muscat and Oman. It changed its name to Oman in 1970. From 1944 to 1961 the stamps of India and Great Britain were overprinted and used for postage. From 1961 to 1970 Oman issued its own stamps and they were inscribed Muscat & Oman. From 1971 to present the stamps of Oman are inscribed Sultanate of Oman.
