PHILIPPINES, JAPANESE OCCUPATION

Philippines was a part of Spain until 1898 when it was given to the United States. In 1942 the Japanese invaded and took the Philippines from the United States, and occupied them until 1945 when the United States retook the Islands. In 1946 the Philippines gained their independence and became a republic. Philippines issued their first stamp in 1854. Some examples of Philippines stamps is as follows:
