PORTUGAL

Portugal issued its first stamp in 1853. The stamps of Portugal replaced the stamps of Azores and Madeira which are an intergal part of Portugal. Starting in 1980 some stamps of Portugal were also inscribed with Azores and Maideira. These stamps are valid for postage in Portugal. Some examples of Portugal stamps is as follows:
