RYUKYU ISLANDS

Ryukyu Islands were a part of Japan until 1945 when the American Forces took control of it. Ryukyu Islands were returned to Japan in 1972. And the stamps of Japan replaced the stamps of Ryukyu Islands. Some examples of Ryukyu Islands stamps is as follows: RYUKYUS POSTAGE
Kume Island Provisional Issue (Issued in 1945 during American Forces Occupation and valid until 1948)
Japan stamps used for Provisional Issue (These stamps were used with a postmaster handstamp in the districts of Amami, Miyako, Okinawa and Yaeyama during American Occupation until 1948.)
