Somalia became a part of the Italian colony know as Italian East Africa in 1936. From 1941 to 1949 it was under British military administration. In 1960 it merged with the Somaliland Protectorate (British) to form the independent Republic of Somalia. Some examples of Somalia stamps is as follows:
