STRAITS SETTLEMENTS

Straits Settlements was a British Colony that consisted of Malacca, Singapore, and Penang. The colony was administrated by India until 1867. In 1946 the colony was dissolved when Singapore became a separate crown colony. Malacca and Penang became a part of the Federation of Malaya in 1948.
