SYRIA

Syria was split up between France, Great Britain and Arab forces in 1918. The stamps of France, Great Britain and the Arab kindom were used with an overprint for postage in Syria. In 1925 Syria issued its first stamp. Syria gained their independence in 1946 and joined with Egypt to create the United Arab Republic. In 1961 Syria left the union and named itself Syrian Arab Republic. Some examples of Syria stamps is as follows:
