Ukraine issued the stamps of Russia with an overprint and their own stamps for postage until 1923, when it joined the Soviet Union and began to use the stamps of the Soviet Union for postage. In 1991 The Soviet Union broke up and Ukraine became independent and began to issue their own stamps. Some examples of Ukriane stamps is as follows:
