Zambezia was a part of Portuguese East Africa colony. It was later split into two Portuguese East Africa colony districts named Quelimane and Tete. These districts were a part of Mozambique Company, and in 1975 became part of the Republic of Mozambique. Some examples of Zambezia stamps is as follows:
