French Guinea is on the coast of West Africa between Portuguese Guinea and Sierra Leone. It joined with former French colonies of Senegal, Ivory Coast, Dahomey, French Sudan, Mauritania, Niger and Upper Volta to become French West Africa and began to issue stamps in that name around 1944 - 1945.
